Captain Randy Beltran has been fishing Miami’s urban canals and offshore waters since he was five years old. Taught the basics of fishing by his father, he also learned from watching YouTube and River Monsters. But it was when he met someone special that he truly developed the methods he still uses today to catch Peacock and Largemouth Bass.
That person is Captain Yoan Alvarez—a longtime family friend who grew up with Randy’s father and has always been like an uncle to him. Widely regarded as one of Florida’s most accomplished tournament bass anglers and a highly respected guide, Captain Yoan played a major role in Randy’s growth as an angler. Randy learned countless techniques from him but also developed many of his own. What stuck with him most was Yoan’s ability to teach and his fast-paced, tournament-style approach to fishing. Randy is not the “stand around and wait” type of fisherman—on every trip, he’s willing to run far, move fast, and burn as much gas as it takes to put his clients on fish without hesitation.
Randy has been a USCG-licensed captain since the very month he turned 18. He is fully licensed and insured to run fishing trips anywhere in the state of Florida. In addition, he is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, making him well-equipped to provide a great experience for Spanish-speaking clients.
